Coachella People Directories Map
Coachella people directories are not held in one city phone book. The strongest directories are split by purpose: city and state contact pages for offices, CVUSD and school pages for education staff, public-record indexes for deed and case parties, assessor and tax tools for address work, California business and license searches for professional identities, and archives for older residents. Each directory lists a different slice of a person's public trail.
| Directory | Who It Lists | Keeper | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachella city pages | City officers, departments, office contacts | City of Coachella | Web pages; directory content appears as an image. |
| California Personnel Office Directory | State personnel offices and agencies | State Controller | Current A-Z browse, agency oriented. |
| CDE CVUSD directory | District officers and contacts | California Department of Education | Web page, updated Aug. 29, 2025. |
| CVUSD and CVHS staff directories | District and school staff names, roles, phones, email links | CVUSD | Web pages and staff search. |
| Recorder and court indexes | Grantors, grantees, clerk-document parties, case parties | Riverside County and court | Official web indexes; court name search paid. |
| Assessor, tax, and GIS tools | Parcel and address-linked public-record trails | Riverside ACR and Treasurer-Tax Collector | APN, PIN, address, and bill searches. |
| CDNC, CVHM, and county archives | Past residents, organizations, notices, obituaries, land history | UC Riverside, CVHM, Riverside Archives | Online newspaper search and appointment archives. |
Start with the directory that matches the role. For a city office, use city pages. For a teacher or district leader, use CDE, CVUSD, or the high school directory. For a property-linked name, use assessor, tax, GIS, and recorder indexes. For past residents, use newspapers, archives, and regional history collections.
Coachella Government Directory Limits
The City of Coachella directory page is useful, but the office list appears as an image rather than structured text in the static capture. The City Clerk page identifies the elected clerk and city clerk email, and city department pages identify main office contacts, hours, and sometimes direct emails. Development Services, Building and Safety, Code Enforcement, Public Works, and other city pages are best treated as office directories rather than a full staff roster.
The Coachella city directory page is screenshot-worthy because the visual directory can show office routing even when text extraction is weak.
When a named city staffer is not listed, the practical fallback is the department main line, City Clerk, or a targeted public-record request.
| City directory | Office contacts and routing; core list appears as an image. |
|---|---|
| City Clerk page | Clerk name, term, city clerk email, civic center contact. |
| Department pages | Address, main phone, office hours, and procedure details. |
| State CPOD | State personnel-office contacts, not a statewide all-employee directory. |
Coachella School Staff Directories
Education directories are stronger than the city staff directory. The CDE directory for Coachella Valley Unified School District lists the district address in Thermal, mailing address, phone, fax, web address, superintendent, chief business official, status, and last updated date. CVUSD's Our Team page lists names, contact sections, positions, responsibilities, phone numbers, and email links. Coachella Valley High School has a staff directory search field with alphabetic staff entries.
The CVUSD Our Team page is one of the stronger current Coachella people directories because it pairs names with roles and contact paths.
Because the district office and high school use Thermal addresses, school directory searches should include the broader eastern valley geography.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Options or Format Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search staff directory | Text search | No | Searches visible school staff entries. |
| Staff entry name | Result item | N/A | Names listed alphabetically or by page order. |
| School contact | Static contact | N/A | CVHS address, phone, and webadmin email were visible. |
Coachella Public-Record Directories
Some public-record systems work like people directories even though they are not staff pages. The Riverside recorder index is a grantor and grantee directory for recorded documents back to 1974 and a clerk-document party index back to 1893. Riverside court Public Access is a party-name directory, but it is account-gated and paid for name searches. The assessor, tax, and GIS systems are address and parcel directories rather than confirmed owner-name searches in the visible material. California voter registration data is a restricted directory for approved users, not public browse data.
For access-law detail and copy procedure, use the Coachella public records page rather than treating these indexes as ordinary contact lists.
- Directory
- A list that helps identify or route to people, offices, or records.
- Public-record index
- A searchable government list that may reveal names, document numbers, dates, or case clues.
- Reverse directory
- A historical or address-based directory that starts from an address rather than a surname.
Coachella License Directories
California business and license databases are strong people directories for Coachella when the person is tied to an entity, trade, profession, or public credential. SOS bizfile Online covers business entities, UCC filings, trademarks, immigration consultants, and certified-copy verification. The UCC search uses debtor, secured party, or file number. The Secretary of State active-notary listing is updated each business day and includes notary name, business name if any, mailing address, filing county code, commission number, and expiration date.
The California Personnel Office Directory is a state-government directory that browses agency and personnel-office contacts rather than every public employee.
For licensed professionals, use DCA License Search plus board-specific tools such as CSLB, DRE, the State Bar, Medical Board, Nursing through DCA or BreEZe, and Teacher Credentialing.
Coachella College and Library Directories
College of the Desert has a Coachella Student Services site at 1279 6th Street, Coachella, CA 92236, with phone (760) 565-4800 and email contacts for off-campus sites or general questions. The main College of the Desert A-Z page confirms a Faculty and Staff Directory link, although the directory target was not fully field-inspected in the research pass. That makes COD a useful regional education directory, but not one to overstate beyond the verified contact page and A-Z directory path.
Riverside County Library System gives Coachella branch access at 1500 6th Street, phone (760) 398-5148. The library history notes the original Coachella Library opened in City Hall in 1957, moved to 7th Street in 1981, and served there until 2018. RCLS digital resources include Archives Unbound, CloudLibrary NewsStand, New York Times, ProQuest eLibrary, and ProQuest Central student edition. Exact local phone-book, reverse-directory, or city-directory years were not confirmed, so library directory work should be framed as a contact-and-follow-up route.

Coachella Newspaper Directories
Newspapers function as people directories when formal directories are missing. The California Digital Newspaper Collection supports search, titles, dates, tags, counties, and map browsing. Its Desert Sun title page spans Dec. 14, 1934 through April 30, 1993, with 12,622 digitized issues. Because the Desert Sun is a regional Coachella Valley newspaper, it can surface Coachella names through obituaries, society notes, school activities, sports, public notices, business names, land notices, club items, and civic events.
Use newspaper hits as leads, not final proof. A notice may provide a spouse, parent, school, business, address, date, or organization name that can then be checked against county recorder records, court probate files, vital-record copy rules, school directories, or archive collections. For post-1993 research, the better path is Riverside County Library digital resources, publisher archives, and local archive follow-up.
Newspaper search is also where Coachella's regional geography matters most. A person tied to the city may appear in Palm Springs publication data, Indio archive holdings, Thermal school records, or county public notices. Search surname variants, compound surnames, and accentless spellings, then compare the result with official records before treating a directory clue as confirmed.
Historical Coachella Directories
Historical Coachella people directories are regional. Coachella incorporated in 1946, so older names often appear in Riverside County, Indio, Thermal, school, water district, newspaper, church, and valley-wide records. The Coachella Valley History Museum Archives holds regional newspapers, magazines, business licenses, photographs, documents, and records spanning more than 100 years. Riverside County Archives lists assessment rolls, deeds, official records, property ownership records, maps, Index to Grantees, Index to Maps, and Coachella Valley Water District Certificate of Sales.
The Coachella Valley History Museum archives are a strong local source for names that predate modern web directories.
Archive use is request-based and appointment-based, so plan around archivist mediation rather than open-stack browsing.
